In an effort to improve New York's airports, JFK's iconic TWA terminal, which has been vacant for 14 years, will be transformed into a hotel in the next 3 years.
Originally designed by Eero Saarinen, the terminal will be renamed the TWA Flight Center and will house 505 hotel rooms, 40,000 square feet of meeting space, six to eight dining establishments and a 10,000 square foot observation deck.
The makeover will be orchestrated by hoteliers JetBlue and MCR Development and aims to celebrate and preserve the mid-century icon, returning the landmark to its original glory and reopening it to the public.
Hopefully, the TWA Flight Center Hotel will breathe new life into airport-neighbouring accommodation and ease painful layovers.
