Selfies Have Killed More People Than Sharks This Year

At D'Marge we have a strict 'no douche bag' policy when it comes to selfies, and yet Instagram's daily serving of selfies continues to shock, entertain and disappoint, and now in a twist of events, they've been deemed dangerous. Mashable recently reported that selfies have killed more people than sharks this year.

Around the world, 12 people have died this year while trying to take a selfie, compared to 8 who died after being attacked by sharks. How? You may ask, when 'death-by-selfie' seems incredibly avoidable. Well, some died from falling, some were hit or injured by trains. One man died while taking a selfie at the running of bulls, and one woman died in a car accident taking selfies before the crash.

Apparently taking selfies has become so dangerous that a park in the U.S. had to shut down because people were taking selfies with bears close by.
