Ashley Madison Hack Reveals 20 Million Male Users & Only 2,500 Women

Ouch. That has to sting. Not only has the Ashley Madison hack severely damaged the site's security reputation, it's also shredded any other good reputation Ashley Madison had left.

Data pulled from the hack suggests that most of the site's female users were inactive or, worse, not real to begin with. A Gizmodo investigation found that the database included over 31 million male users and just 5.5 million female users. Of those profiles, only a small percentage were real and active - about 20 million men and only 2,500(ish) women.

So much for the vision of Ashley Madison as a debauched, adulterous wonderland. Looks like cheaters will have to go back to stepping out the old fashioned way: on Craigslist.
